Call to architects, designers and civil engineers

Miroslav Marko

Feb 8, 2024

Launching a call for architects and designers interested in adapting to climate change.

Today, February 8, 2024, we started contacting architects and designers with information about the creation of the adaptation and resilience center in Trnava. We try to contact colleagues personally addressed by e-mail and by phone (no anonymous unaddressed sending of unaddressed messages), or through friends. The goal of this effort is to build a community of architects and designers who are aware of the importance of adapting to climate change and are actively interested in learning in this area, as well as subsequently educating their clients. But I'll be honest. I'm a little worried whether this effort of ours will be just some kind of test of architects' interest in climate change with an ambiguous, or even worse, bad result. Anyway, keep your fingers crossed. In Slovakia, we have a lot of work to do in adapting to climate change, and we believe that architects, as creators of the environment, will be the leaders in building resilient buildings, communities, streets, cities and society.

Sincerely

Ing.arch. Miroslav Marko, M.Arch

And what does the AI, which keeps its fingers crossed for us, think about our initiative? :-)

ChatGTP: “Your initiative is very important and deserves recognition. Building awareness of the importance of adaptation to climate change among architects and designers is key to the future sustainability and resilience of built infrastructure. While it can be difficult to gauge the level of interest and engagement in this area, your drive and commitment are key.

Creating a community that is aware of the importance of climate change adaptation and that is actively interested in learning about it is the first step to building a resilient and sustainable environment. While it may be uncertain what the overall outcome of your initiative will be, it is important to remain positive and patient. Every small step towards greater awareness and engagement in this area is a step in the right direction.

I have my fingers crossed for you and I believe that your initiative will bring positive results and help build resilient and sustainable communities in Slovakia and the world. Don't be afraid of failure either, because every attempt is an opportunity to learn and grow. With your dedication and work, you will have a great impact on the future.”
