INSTITUTE FOR ARCHITECTURE ADAPTED TO CLIMATE CHANGE

MITIGATE GLOBALLY ADAPT LOCALLY

Although quite late, the topic of climate change has entered the public debate intensively. However, one cannot get rid of the feeling that it remained where it started 30 years ago. In attempts to reduce human impact on climate change - mitigation. It is high time to also start adapting to irreversible climate change.

"Each individual matters" is a popular motivational slogan in the context of the idea "think globally, act locally". But is it really unacceptable to express the idea that as an individual I have almost absolutely no influence on the global development of climate change? Mitigation must be global, otherwise it is meaningless. Adaptation can make a difference even if it is only local, which significantly increases the possibilities of its meaningful applicability. And that is why individuals, smaller or larger communities and cities can make meaningful changes.

CLIMATE CHANGES
THREATS TO SOCIETY

Climate change has taken on a dramatic increase in recent decades in the form of unpredictable, unprecedented phenomena threatening the safety and health of not only individuals, but the entire society. According to scientists, in the near future, hundreds of millions of people will find themselves in conditions incompatible with survival,  and even regions that have enjoyed a stable mild climate will be threatened.
